Suhoor at the Sultans Palace
If you want to try a unique experience that reflects Arabian Culture, then... Qasr Al Sultan is the place to go to. I was lucky to get to experience this as, our annual Suhoor was held here.
(Suhur "pre-dawn meal"; is an Islamic term referring to the meal consumed early in the morning by Muslims before fasting, sawm, before dawn during or outside the Islamic month of Ramadan.)
Being in Qasr Al Sultan is a whole new experience itself. Upon entering you have this elegant feel of being welcomed in a Sheikh's palace hence, the name Qasr Al Sultan. It's like you've traveled back to a time when Dubai is not that luxurious city that it is now. You know the feeling of being in the Disney cartoon Aladdin, that was exactly what was going on in my mind when we entered the place. As you go around you will be greeted by small traditional shops selling traditional arts and crafts, including ornate jewelry, lavish carpets and beautifully tailored clothing, before finding your way into the bright, colorful and aromatic spice bazaar. And not a long walk from these winding streets you will reach the hustle and bustle of the Food Bazaar, where live cooking is in every corner.
If you want to try and experience a different kind of dining that reflects the rich culture and tradition of UAE, I highly recommend going to Qasr Al Sultan. It's like being invited in an extravagant feast at the Sultans Palace.
